Kitchen is complete (with the exception of the curtain for the window, which I can’t figure out just yet). Sergey actually put up the hardware for the cabinets a few weeks ago, but I waited to write the post because I needed to reorganize cabinets/storage, which still refuse to house as many things as I would like. Oh well, at least that will provide impetus for the dream kitchen.

Grand total of $265 for the space looks all well and reasonable. But somehow, this is just a drop in the (rather large) bucket that our home depot/ace hardware/true value receipts make up.

Fridge (craigslist) – $40 plus $5 for hand cart rent

Chairs and kitchen cart (craiglist) – $80

Cabinets: liners, paint supplies (hardware store) – $55

Cabinets Hardware (home depot) – $14

Wall backsplash: fabric and starch (JoAnnes, grocery store) – $11

Storage baskets (3) on top of cabinets (ikea) – $48

sink cabinet storage (BBB) – $12

* we already had all the ikea wall racks for pots, pans, and spices

* the new stove – FHA rules stipulate that stove must work, but do not require a fridge – was put in by the previous owner.

Next up (as promised long ago) detailed post on the cabinets.
